Militiamen chuckle as they travel on the rear of a transport truck, racing past a row of several dead bodies and heading facing the sinking African evening sky.

"See this extensive work. Observe this instance of ethnic cleansing," a combatant shouts.

He grins as he directs the recording device on himself and his companion fighters, their RSF badges visible: "The victims are all going to be killed like this."

The combatants are exulting in a massacre that relief organizations believe resulted in the deaths of more than 2,000 individuals in the Sudanese urban center of the Darfur city during October.

A City Isolated from the World

Having held the city under blockade for nearly an extended period, from the summer the militia moved to consolidate its control and prevent access for the remaining inhabitants.

Orbital photography show that troops started to erect a immense berm - a built-up sand barrier - encircling the perimeter of el-Fasher, blocking roads and preventing aid.

While the blockade escalated, multiple individuals were killed in an paramilitary attack on a mosque on September 19th, while the United Nations stated dozens additional were killed in unmanned aircraft and cannon attacks on a makeshift community in the autumn.

Explicit Footage Depicts Weaponless Individuals Gunned Down

By sunrise on late October the paramilitary force overwhelmed the last government positions and took control of the central compound in the community, the main facility of the Army Division, as the government forces pulled back.

Perhaps the most disturbing videos to surface and studied depicted the consequences of a massacre at a campus structure on the west of the city, where scores dead bodies were visible strewn over the ground.

Satellite images captured on 26 October seemed to confirm that killings were also conducted on the roads of the city, based on a analysis issued by the university analysis team.

One witness who communicated reported the individual had seen "numerous of our kin being killed - these individuals were collected in a specific area and each one eliminated."

RSF Commanders Attempt to Conduct Public Relations

In the days that followed the killings, RSF chief acknowledged that his troops had perpetrated "wrongdoings" and said the occurrences would be examined.

Among those apprehended was following a investigation recording his murders. Deliberately orchestrated and edited footage posted on the militia's authorized Telegram platform reveal the individual being led into a prison room at a prison on the outskirts of el-Fasher.

Meanwhile, the militia and associated online profiles began attempting to reshape the account.

Content showing its militiamen distributing supplies to residents were disseminated by some accounts, while the militia's media office shared multiple clips claiming to display the proper management of military prisoners of war.

Regardless of the social media campaign being employed by the militia, their activities in the city have provoked global outrage.
