Kansas City Chiefs State They Are Aware of Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete
The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver the athlete and had been in contact with the NFL.
The organization did not mention the player by name in their announcement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice by name, posted a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with the football player, whom the team drafted in the second round.

No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice was absent for the initial part of this season following an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals hurt. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
Statistically, Rice finished the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
