Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Acclaimed writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A representative for the company stated: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into reports of inappropriate behaviour involving female individuals.

The company declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works altogether, including a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
