British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities announced on late Wednesday. The athlete was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
